IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING USE OF MOTOR VEHICLES IN BICYCLE RACE EVENTS Insurance is now available to cover liability for people who own the motor vehicles they are operating in bicycle race events. This is an expansion in the coverage that has been available for Non-Owned/Hired vehicles in the past. The coverage is supplemental to the driver’s own insurance. The cost is the same as the cost in 2007 ($25/car and $100/motorcycle for the first five motorcycles, $50 for additional motorcycles). The fee covers events up to 10 consecutive days.
All drivers must fill out the Authorization to Conduct a Motor Vehicle Report , sign it and be approved as drivers for coverage. This insurance expands the event insurance to include the motor vehicles. The best part about this insurance expansion is that it covers YOU, the promoter. All motor vehicles involved in your event NEED to be covered – this isn’t really an optional thing!
