Wells Ave Notice
Tuesday, May 13, 2003

While we apologize for the inconvenience this may cause some riders, it is
important to remember that Wells Ave. is a weekly training series with little
money and relies on many volunteers who have families. As such, it is common
for the A and B fields to be combined at Wells during the height of the season;
this race will start at 10:45 AM sharp! In order to relieve registration
congestion and prevent late arrivals from unduly affecting the race we are
instituting the following changes:

a.. The decision to combine will be made at 10:15AM and announced
b.. We will likely combine the A & B races IF there are fewer than 25 B riders
registered by 10:15 AM.
c.. ALL A RIDERS ARE ADVISED TO REGISTER BY NO LATER THAN 10:30AM.
d.. RIDERS registering after the start of ANY race will be ineligible for
primes or a finish placing, regardless of whether we have combined races.
e.. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE FOR LATE ARRIVALS – Riders should pass the
word!
f.. Please do not badger the registration person/s about prizes; this is small
training race, so bear with us.
Finally, a few words about safety. It is imperative that we receive marshalling
help on a weekly basis. The race pays $11 per race marshaled, so its small
request that Wells regulars all pitch in. I would also like to remind riders
that Wells Ave. is a bike race and not a boxing match. Threats, or acts of
physical violence will not be tolerated.
