Press Release – East Bay Crit Training Series

UNION VELO ANNOUNCES THE 17-WEEK EAST BAY TRAINING CRITERIUM SERIES TO
BEGIN MAY 7

ATTLEBORO, MA- Union Velo and the East Bay Cycling Club are pleased to
announce that the longstanding East Bay Training Criterium Series held at
the North Central Industrial Park in Lincoln, Rhode Island will begin its
17-week run on Wednesday, May 7. The training series, held on a .9 mile
loop, has been a staple on the New England racing scene for over a decade.
The series runs every Wednesday, weather permitting, through August 27th.

The East Bay Training Crit is comprised of two weekly races. The "B" race
open to Category 5 male riders and Category 4 and 5 female riders begins at
5:55 pm. The "B" race is 10 laps (approximately 30 min.) and requires either
a USCF license or one-day citizen license. Primes plus 1/2/3 places.
Merchandise and cash. The "A" race open to USCF-licensed Category 1, 2, 3
and 4 male riders and Cat. 1,2 and 3 female riders begins at 6:30 pm. The
"A" race pays out 4 places ($10,7,5,3) and is 25 to 32 laps and will run to
dusk upon officials discretion. Primes are cash or gift certificates
provided by Union Cycle, 77 Pleasant St. Attleboro, MA.

UNION VELO
Now in its third year of sponsorship and promotion of the East Bay Training
Series, Union Velo is a community of bicycle racers and enthusiasts based in
Attleboro, Massachusetts. Its 50 plus members compete in road, mountain bike
and cyclocross races throughout New England and beyond. The 20-year old bike
club boast the 2003 Massachusetts Cat. 4 state road champion and the Eastern

Directions:
FROM 295 take Exit 9A to Rt 116 South/Smithfield/ Lincoln Mall bear right at
split. FROM Rt 146 South take Rt 295 exit to Rt 116 South FROM Rt 146 North
take Smithfield exit to George Washington Hwy/ Rt 116 South FROM .Rt 116
South go past Lincoln Mall on your right. Take left at light onto Rt
123/Albion Rd, towards North Central Airport. FROM Rt 116 North take left at
light onto Rt 123/Albion Road towards N. Central Airport.Go approximately 1
mile, turn left onto Powder Hill Road, Bike Race sign is on Utility Pole.
Follow road around corner and take next left, Wellington Road. Take right at
bottom of hill onto Carol Drive. Registration is currently on Carol Dr.
(Please park only on Carol Drive and not in Parking Lots).
