Kirk and I attended the New England Promoter’s meeting (NE-BRA) on Friday in Fitchburg, MA. One of the issue voiced by the folks was that the schedule for Nationals could be a little early for their Junior riders. Seems that school is scheduled to get out on 28 June (who knew that school could go that late?). I’m not sure what the current scheduling looks like, but if the Juniors were to be scheduled in the later part of the event, it might help participation from the distant Northeast.

Jim,
Thank you for the input from the Northeast. We have received additional feedback from your region with regards to our Junior Nationals date selection and certainly understand your concern.
Last year, Junior Nationals were held in August and numerous parents in the southern half of the country voiced their own concerns. It seems that in the south, school starts any time between July and mid-August. We have found that we have a very small window to run Nationals in and make everyone happy. Unfortunately, that small window would not work for our promoter this year. The venue had previously made commitments for that time period, so we were forced to choose our second option.
I am sorry that the date interferes with the completion of school in some areas of the country. We make our best effort to do what is best for juniors as a whole and I feel we have done that with this date.
Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with.
