Bill " Slick Willy" Hurley Update
Thursday, July 01, 2004

Spoke to Bill this afternoon. He is starting to sound like himself. He was up and walking and sitting. His meds are being taken orally and is now on solid foods. The docs have said that his recovery rate has been "astounding", All of his vital signs are good. The lead surgeon is out of town, but will be back to make a final review of his pics. They couldn’t see anything in the pics. Bill will have to come back in a month to get a re-scan. He is still in a lot of pain.

He told me that the weakness in the artery that lead to his frightening episode was luckily not in the critical "arch" areas. If all comes to pass he should be home in about four days. If everything works out, he should be able to resume (after recovery) normal activities. He is currently in # 219 Farr at the Beth Israel Hospital, but still cannot accept visitors. I told him that everyone was wishing him well. Based upon what he told me, I would think that the best bet if you want to send him a card would be to send them to his home at 94 Prince Street Needham 02492. I would think visits would be welcome when he gets home as he will probably have a number of days where he will have to be home.

Updates as they become available. Bill expressed his appreciation of all your good wishes. I am thinking all the good thoughts sent his way wasa worked…keep it up.
