Study on Motivation of Cyclists being conducted
Thursday, May 06, 2004

Hello- I am a professor and researcher in the Department of Health Science
and Human Ecology at California State University, San Bernardino. I am also
a USA Cycling Licensed coach and a regular masters racer.

I am conducting a study on motivation of cyclists. The study is interested
in all people who cycle.
The study is based on an earlier study of marathoner’s motivation to train
and race. Participants will complete an online survey that takes about 10-
15 minutes to complete. The information will be valuable to coaches and
teams in determining what motivates different cyclists to train and race.
As a way of thanking people for completing the survey, participants will be
eligible to win a $25.00 gift certificate to Excel Sport.

In order for this study to be successful, I am asking if I could have your
website place a link to the study so that visitors to your website can
participate. Also, a note about the study and a weblink in your
organizations newsletter would also be helpful.

The tentative beginning date for the study is May 10, 2004. Data collection
will go through July 1. If you would like more information regarding the
study, please feel free to contact me at (909) 880-7229 or [email protected].

Thank you in advance for your help.
