News of upcoming Races in New York
Tuesday, February 24, 2004

I’m writing to let you know about two upcoming races in New York — the Grant’s Tomb Criterium on Saturday, March 20 in Manhattan and the Bear Mountain Spring Classic Sunday, May 9 in Harriman State Park.

The Grant’s Tomb Criterium, put on by the Columbia University Cycling team, is on a really fun course near campus with reserved parking for racers. There are fields for category 3/4, women’s 1-2-3 and women’s 4, as well as collegiate riders. The women’s category 4 race is part of the Aquafina NY State Women’s 3/4 Series.

Details on this race are online at http://www.columbia.edu/cu/cycling/2004_Race_Flyer.htm.

For more information about the Aquafina series visit http://nycvelogirls.org/series.html.
And we’ve got pictures of the last two year’s races at

The Bear Mountain Spring Classic will have fields for pro-1-2, 3, 4, masters 35+, women 1-2-3 and women 4. As you probably know, this takes place on one of the best road courses in the country.

Details are online at http://www.crca.net/races04/harriman.htm

Please also mark your calendars for two races in New York City’s Central Park: July 10 for the Lou Maltese Memorial (category 4, juniors/U-23, women 3/women 4/junior girls) and September 25 for the Mengoni Grand Prix (pro-1-2, cat 3, and women 1-2-3).

See you at the races,
