45th Fitchburg Longsjo Classic scheduled for July 2-5, 2004 Wednesday, October 22, 2003
The 45th Fitchburg Longsjo Classic will take place on July 2-5, 2004. The four race venues will remain essentially the same as last year, but will start on Friday (not Thursday) in order to accommodate local July 4 activities. The Royal Plaza Time Trial is Friday, Aubuchon Circuit Race Saturday, Unitil-Mt Wachusett Road Race Sunday and Worker’s Federal Downtown Criterium on Monday (Federal Holiday).
The overall prize list has been increased to $40,000! We expect more than 900 riders to participate including many of the best pro men and women cyclists in North America. We will open for online registration early next year and will make an announcement through this newsgroup at that time.
With Dr. Ray Wolejko’s retirement as race director, the Fitchburg Cycling Club will need all the help and support we can get to maintain and build on this first class event. Contact me at [email protected] if you have any ideas or want to get involved. We will have an online volunteer program up and running in a month or so (on www.longsjo.com) for those who would like to volunteer to help with race operations and logistics.
Thanks – George Gantz, President of Fitchburg Cycling Club
